Loss is an inevitable part of life and grief is a natural part of the healing process.

Grieving allows us to work through the myriad feelings engendered by significant losses. When experiencing grief, it is common to feel nervous, angry, and fearful. Furthermore, impaired concentration, feelings of guilt and remorse are frequently experienced.

Thoughts of wanting to run and hide, as well as concerns of "falling apart" are also part of the clinical picture.

Being able to share these experiences and feelings in a compassionate setting with a caring and skilled listener can facilitate the mourning process and promote healing and acceptance. Only then is the individual ready to move on.
